May I?

With the arrival of May, I have decided to make a challenge for these next 30 days to help me become a better person. The name God gave me for this challenge is, "May I". I came up with 13 things that I struggle with and that I need to work on personally. I shall confess these things over my life each morning. (I may add more as they come to mind throughout the month.)

  • May I walk in the love of Christ towards those who are easy to love and even more so towards those who are difficult to love. (Eph. 5:2, Luke 6:32)

  • May I be patient and understanding in all of my ways. (Gal. 5:22)

  • May I trust God through every situation I face. (Psalm 9:10; 37:5; 56:3)

  • May I lean on God and not my own understanding. (Prov. 3:5)

  • May I be selfless in all I do and slow to anger. (1 Cor.13:5)

  • May I be humble. (Col. 3:12)

  • May I focus only on my identity in Christ rather than on my image in the world. (Psalm 139:13; Jer. 1:5)

  • May I believe in who Christ has called me to be rather than who the world thinks I am. (Rom. 12:2)

  • May I always speak words that build others up and not bring others down. (Prov. 18.21)

  • May I always be a light in a world so dark. (Matt. 5:14-16)

  • May I always tell at least one person about Christ each day. (Psalm 96:3)

  • May I strive to please God rather than man. (Gal. 1:10)

  • May I give my burdens over to Christ and never pick them up again. (Psalm 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7)

As I complete this challenge, I hope that these 13 declarations become a habitual thought and, in turn, a part of my character. I encourage you all to join me in making a "May I" Challenge for the month.
